Keeping with the theme of faces from “New" places, Newfoundland trad band Shanneyganock had crowd members do-si-do-ing up a storm to its hyperbolic jigs and reels.
“We were on the road to Canso and we thought we’d taken a wrong turn somewhere and were on the road back home," joked singer/guitarist Chris Andrews, noting the similarity in terrain between Chedabucto and Placentia bays.
Accordionist Mark Hiscock went further with the solidarity by singing the waltz Grey Foggy Day, about the kind of pea-souper where even the crows have to walk. Trust me, Canso can relate.
